You have only been doing your best

One of the more important things that Dr. Deming taught me in our over twenty year association is that I must take every opportunity to learn. He himself tried to learn something from everyone he met. When Dr. Deming agreed to help a client, he made it clear that both he and the client would embark on a journey of continual learning.

You probably have already begun that journey. And you are not alone. Most every company in the world has also begun their Quality journey. Initially you might be able to cover a lot of ground in a short period of time by sending your people to get trained and solve problems. But when you are on top of your game, remember some of Dr. Deming’s advice: “Don’t confuse success with success.” Ask yourself how much better might it be if you tried something different. In order to try something different, you have to know something different.

Now what do you do?

You need a guide. You need a person who has state of the art knowledge of Quality management. And there are a number of people with such knowledge. But you also need a person who has actually traveled on the roads that you are now on and has successfully navigated them. There are a number of people who have done this. But there are less than a handful in this world that have done both. I have worked with Dr. Deming on over 1000 occasions with clients that have asked for help. I have taken the lessons of these experiences and applied them over the past 25 years to the success of my clients. I am internationally recognized as one of the world’s foremost authorities on the subject of quality and its implementation. Theory without action is useless. On the other hand, action without theory is costly.

It takes time to learn. It takes time to unlearn some of the things that we were carefully taught that are just not so. That is why Dr. Deming insisted on a long-term relationship with his clients. So do I. His approach was, and mine is, to spend 3 to 4 days per month helping the leaders and their people to improve. This help involves coaching and counseling and private tutoring for the Physical, Logical, and Emotional improvement of the individuals and their organizations.

I have satisfied clients around the world with my proven approach. Listen to the Voice of my Customers for some of their comments.
